You've got to step it up a level. I didn't go to my senior prom (I couldn't be bothered) but one classmate rented a Mystery Machine. I just did a full wash on my car for the girlfriend at the time, but if I had the gonads then, I would have taken her in the Benz. A little glad I didn't though.

Find something really unique. Don't get me wrong, Lambos are sweet rides, but imagine showing up in a movie car, or something more unique than a lambo or limo. One of my friends took his 68 Wildcat, and there definitely weren't any more of those around.
